Who are you?

This position has a critical role within the strategy and corporate development team.  In this role as the Vice President, Business Development & Strategic Alliances you will be responsible for generating additional revenue through new routes to market and channel relationships.  To be successful in this role, you will identify and develop new revenue streams, build value, create urgency, and collaborate strategically with internal stakeholders and partners to create growth opportunities.  We are looking for passion, creativity, and a thirst for securing growth through third-party and partner relationships.  

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Pursue ‘non-standard’, multi-year, eight-figure revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and secure new routes-to-market and strategic capabilities through 3rd-party partnerships as required
  • Develop channel partner strategy, process, and tools for partner selection 
  • Manage channel partner selection, negotiation and on-boarding
  • Manage ongoing channel partner relationship and return on investment calculation
  • Contribute to the corporate development strategic planning process
  • Work with legal and finance to develop partnership contracts and revenue models
  • Participate as assigned in M&A activities as required: diligence, modeling and research

What you bring to the Virgin Pulse team

  • College degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of partner or alliances experience
  • Strategic thinker with ability to blend consulting and business strategy to develop compelling plans for new partner initiatives
  • History of successfully developing and leading multiple strategic partnerships?
  • Must be comfortable with complexity, and thinking on multiple levels of abstraction; demonstrates use of critical thinking techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills?
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team?
  • Ability to travel

  • Developing and driving large, eight-figure, deals with prospective clients including initial relationship development, business case building, deal negotiation, and closing. 
  • Leverage data, healthcare knowledge, and relationships within the industry to secure major business partnerships and alliances. 
  • Ability to effectively drive strategy, decision making, revenue through consultative and data-driven approaches. 
  • Architecting a clear narrative around Virgin Pulse value to the customer 
  • A proven track record of working effectively and collaboratively with product and commercial teams.
  • Strategic ability to explore new revenue streams and identify opportunities. 
  • Project management experience: ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects, simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrates authority through influence - strong internal collaboration skills to effectively work across nearly every team at Virgin Pulse.

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from 180,000- 210,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 25% Corporate Annual Bonus as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
